DC's Blackest Night Event

Blackest Night has become one of the most extremely well-known storylines inside the history relating to Green Lantern comics and, simply, comics on the whole. The Guardian known as Scar prevents Guardians Ganthet and Sayd from aiming to end the was and eliminates one of the Guardians. The remainder of the Guardians are captured and imprisoned.

Soon after, countless numbers of black rings fly all over the universe towards the resting places of fallen Green Lanterns. The rings raise the departed Lanterns to turn them into the undead Black Lantern Corps!

Hal Jordan and the Flash are contacted by Alfred, the longtime butler of Bruce Wayne, to look into the desecration of Wayne's grave site. While at the grave of their fallen friend, they're assaulted by a fallen hero who both of them know well.

From that point on, the heroes from the DC Universe mount a defense against hordes and lots of dead heroes and villains who have appeared to return to life as Black Lanterns. Most of whom were good friends.

As with any war, there is certainly casualties. A number of people lost their lives in the battle against the Black Lanterns. Along the way there have been many twists and turns that is indeed a terrific adventure.

If you've never read the Blackest Night series, you'll want to really do yourself a favor and do so. This was an epic superhero tale that featured great character moments and some surprises as you go along. Without a doubt, this is some of Geoff Johns' finest writing . And Ivan Reis' art raised him to superstar status in the comic industry.
